Effective 2010, the procedures for Boy Scouts in the Sweetwater District advancing to the rank of Eagle have been updated. The following is the scheduling and project information. All meetings will take place on the second Tuesday of each month at the LDS Chapel on Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville. Scheduling should be made with the District Advancement Chair, Marilynn Parker. - 2nparker@bellsouth.net - (770) 949-6640 Eagle Project Proposals: Your project proposal is to be written using the "Atlanta Area Council Life to Eagle Guidebook". Be sure to use the checklists in the back of this "RED" book. Eagle project proposals will be reviewed by the District Advancement Committee from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. For presentations to the Advancement Committee, please bring the original as well as four additional copies of your proposal.Proposals will be returned to Eagle candidates within two weeks. Projects that are satisfactory could be returned the same day. Eagle Boards of Review: Boards of Review are held from 8:00 to 9:30 pm. It is advisable to arrive fifteen minutes early for all Boards of Review. The Eagle Candidate is responsible to schedule his Board. He is responsible to invite his Scoutmaster for introductions and to have a minimum of two (2) Committee members present as part of his Board. The Candidate can have a maximum of three (3), which could include his pastor, teacher, coach or other leader to round out his Board. The Troop Committee members must have Troop Advancement verification, the original Council verified Eagle application and sealed letters. There should be at least five (5) complete copies so that each Board member will have a personal copy to review. Both Eagle Scout Candidates and all Scouters should be in full field uniform. The Eagle Candidate does have the option of dressing in a business suit. Parents are encouraged to accompany the Candidate for support after the review.
