Trail Cleanup at Courthouse Trail April 9th, the Sweetwater District will be taking part in the cleaning of trails behind the Douglas County courthouse. This is a service event that is being coordinated with the Master Gardeners. This is a district event to help units with their required service projects for “Journey to Excellence.” The time is form 9 AM to12 noon. Participants need to bring work gloves, pruners, rakes, water, etc. There are jobs for both Cub and Boy Scouts. Because hamburgers and hot dogs are being provided for lunch, we need a unit signup with number of participants no later than April 1.
Join the Friends of Scouting Campaign Friends of Scouting helps secure the operating funds needed by the Atlanta Area Council to provide the many services offered to support unit programs, such as training, insurance, program materials, advancement materials, camping facilities and programs, council and district activities, and much more. These funds come from donations made to the program by parents, volunteers, Scouts and citizens wanting to support the Boy Scouts of America. We need your help! Be sure to schedule a FOS presentation for your next unit event and help support the Sweetwater Scouts. For more information, please visit the District Friends of Scouting web page.
